My re contextualization of da Vinci´s Last Supper.

I think is one of the most complete digital works I´ve done... I mean: before this one, all of my works had started in a piece of paper, so making an all digital work was a new good experience.

Of course I´d like to make a photo session of this if I had the budget and the people... but I consider I managed a good result with the photos and elements I got... I spent some hours gathering nazi officers photos from the net and then playing with the placement to make them look coherent... like if it really had happened. Original idea was to show most representative nazi leaders but you know... is not the kind of photos you can find easily on the net, so finally I had to leave most of them out of this.

Tha same with the stuff on the table, I chose some representative things like the luger, the iron cross, the SS caps, the helmets, the Mein Kampf (the open book in front of Himmler wich is not actually a real mein kampf but stand for it) and luckily when looking for a gas mask I found that one wich fitted perfectly.

Talking about perfect fitting; I want tho thank :iconerikdevolve: for letting me use some of his "Eastern Front´45" photos to finish the work. Go and check them, they are great, and you´ll find out wich ones I used.

Since I couldn´t found a convincing background I used a shot of my garage, the same with the nazi flags and the floor. The rest was just some nights in front of my pc.

I think that´s all. Of course I´d love to read your comments... but remember to analyze first.

Hope you like it. Thanks for you time.

Oh, just one thing I forgot to tell you in my last comment : the photomanip would be perfect if you hadn't forgot Göring and Goebbels, these men were very important in the Third Reich, and more than Himmler or Heydrich.

Hi Anne! Almost evreyone inmersed in nazi culture have claimed about Göring and Goebbels. I even considered Mengele for this work. My problem was the lack of decent pictures of them, you know, I found very good pictures but were in very low resolution or too damaged or too blurred. I didn't think of restore other ones cause I wasn't as good with photoshop as I am now. (this work is almost two years old) So I just made the best I could with the stuff I had.
Thank you very much for you remark, I really appreciate it and I'm very glad that you liked it.

You could remake it, of course, now that you're better with Photoshop.
Maybe just graft Göring's and Goebbels' heads on clearer bodies, or maybe play around with the resolution of their pictures to make them fit in.

This reminds me of a science fiction idea I had wherein an extremely ultraconservative/fascist Catholic bishops' sect seizes power and declares a theocratic dictatorship in the country I'm from. :)

Not the first time someone suggest me to remake this art work and I'd like to, but somehow I'm partially against editing previows artworks.
I don't give up the chance of doing it, I've actually "retouched" a couple of my works previously; adding textures and minor details but nothing as substantial as it would be with this work. Besides, I've always liked to look back at my works and feel an evolution as an illustrator and think on the long way I still have in front.
You know, as I was keying this lines about artwork re-edition, George Lucas came to my mind with all his aberrant patches to his original star wars trilogy, I've been a sw fan since I was a child, and I can tell you that the movies I saw then are not the same he is delivering to the world in blu-ray. For everithing there ir a season and a time, as an artist you do your best with every work, and maybe you learn or develop some new technique weeks after finishing some art work, and you can't go back and use it because you think it would've fit perfect, but you still have a whole life to use it and keep evolving.
Mhh... too much text, I'm sorry. Anyway, I really appreciate your remark. Thank you very much Mirisu.

You're very welcome, I really like this work. The idea is brillant ! Well, I understand better why you didn't add Göring and Goebbels to this photo, but I think it's not so dramatical because a lot of people don't know who they are (except the ones very interested in Third Reich like me ;)).
